Passionate about creative marketing strategy
A marketing graduate with over 8 years of experience in customer service.
An aspiring tourism marketing and communications professional.
Hi! I'm Claire. I'm 23-years-old and originally from Brisbane, Australia. I completed a Bachelor of Business (Marketing - with distinction) at the Queensland University of Technology in 2017. After graduating, I opted to take an alternate path and follow my passion for travelling and embark on a 'gap-two-years' around-the-world, working holiday adventure.
I have recently, albeit rather unexpectedly, returned to Sydney and I am currently looking for new opportunities. I am hoping to obtain a junior marketing/communications role in order to take the next step in my career.
During my gap year(s), I combined my passion for travelling with my skills in content creation to develop my blog into a platform on which I documented and shared my experiences. My two years abroad taught me more about life than any classroom could. I’ve returned to Australia with a high level of cultural understanding and immense passion and drive to learn.
I would love to chat about any exciting opportunities you may have! You can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 0435164032.

In 2019 I moved to the Canadian ski resort town of Whistler and worked as the marketing coordinator for local tour operator Whistler Eco Tours. In this role, I lead the promotional and social media activity of the company, managed Whistler Eco Tour's presence at events and built relationships with hotel concierge, retail and activity providers. Seeing the brochures I designed distributed to stands throughout the village and placed in every hotel lobby in Whistler was a highlight of the role.
I spent the winter coordinating the marketing for Whistler Eco Tours' winter company - Whistler Executive Transportation. A highlight was creating the WET 'Resort Information Guide' - an informative folder of personalised Whistler activity, dining, shopping and service recommendations for guests to peruse during their 2-3 hour transfer between Whistler and Vancouver. I initiated partnerships with local businesses to offer our guests discounts with our referral partners.
I also lead the process of re-building and re-designing two websites for the company. I coordinated with our web developer to achieve our goal of building more user-friendly, informative and visually-appealing sites.
While on my gap year, I focused my energy on creating engaging content for my blog. I produced regular blog posts detailing destination itineraries and retelling stories of my adventures. Many of these blog posts achieved high rankings on Google and attracted significant organic search traffic to my blog. I also wrote this article for AuPair World which has been published to thousands of readers on their blog and translated into 5 different languages.
My role at Trojan Timbers led me to work on, and initiate projects to rebrand the company's image. I completely re-designed the company website, wrote blog posts and created engaging direct mail campaigns. I designed and created product brochures using InDesign. Initially, 10,000 copies of my brochures were printed and distributed to floor resellers and prospective clients across Australia.
A highlight of my degree was working within a team to develop a marketing plan for a real client - Brisbane-based jewellery shop Molten Store. My team received a high distinction for our efforts and our recommendations were given to the client to implement.
Photography has become a hobby and passion of mine which I have used to help document my travels. All images featured on my Instagram and blog are my own photography.
